I believe the best interior design happens when the space reflects, enhances and inspires the people within it.
I believe in integrating function with the client in an inspirational and beautiful way.
I do not believe in static interiors that have nothing to do with how people really live or work.
Like a painting ... An interior should add and enhance your experience. And like a painting, the composition of a space is of utmost importance, reserving negative space as a counterpoint to all the busyness of our lives.
Like a painting ... A room might never be finished, but instead evolving, growing, and changing as our lives change. And like a painting, sometimes the imperfection, or the small flaw, the scratch on the wood table, the spot on the fabric, the ring on the marble, become the reminder to us that design is not perfection, but instead, a matter of perception.

Gwen Callan is a professional member of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). A Certified Interior Designer of California (by CCIDC), Gwen holds art and art history degrees from Michigan State University, with additional Master’s credits from UCLA. She has traveled extensively and has been practicing interior design her entire career. She was a co-founder and partner of an interior design firm in Alamo, before beginning her own studio in Danville.
Undertaking a broad range of projects, all of which are grounded in smart design and mindful of comfortable living, Gwen’s diverse body of work includes upscale private residences of varying styles throughout California. Her projects range from large and small residential design to model homes and apartment buildings, hospitality design, medical offices.
Her design work has included projects in many parts of California and Arizona, from new construction to remodels. Presently based in Napa, California, Gwen is leaving her stamp on Napa Valley interiors. Her interior design practice is the culmination of education and interests in art, architecture, textiles, and art history.
Gwen is dedicated to helping each client fall in love with their surrounding space.

She loves spending time with her family and friends, tending to Ferrogiaro Vineyard, nurturing a large vegetable garden, and escaping to her rose-filled Secret Garden. She enjoys reading, playing tennis, and playing piano. Gwen cherishes the beauty of living, dining, working, and just playing in the special Napa Valley.
Gwen is a supporter of many causes. In addition to the arts, she and her family recently supported the Napa Valley Grapegrowers by serving as Chairs for Harvest STOMP 2019. Additionally, Gwen supports Grateful Gatherings, designing living spaces for families transitioning out of homelessness and abuse.
